Vehicle Fire On The 710

By Jackawa Jackson | February 1, 2010

At 9:23  on the morning of February 1 2010, Engine 11 was dispatched to a report of a vehicle fire on the 710 freeway.  E11 arrived on scene to find a vehicle with fire showing from under the hood and rapidly extending into the car.  E11 crew members extinguished the fire with a booster line in a matter of minutes.  The 19 year old female driver said she noticed smoke from the area of the firewall before the fire started.  Her father, who owned the vehicle,  had some recent work done to the steering system but no other engine work.  CHP arrived on scene and arranged for a tow.  There were no injuries reported and no other vehicles involved.
