On Sunday morning, February 22\u00a0at 2:42 AM, Long Beach Fire Department units responded to the\u00a0southbound\u00a0710 freeway, south of the 91, for a report of a vehicle accident with an ejected victim.\u00a0 Once on scene, they found that a female driver in her 20’s had been involved in a collision and was thrown from her VW bug, while a male passenger remained in the car.\u00a0 The woman’s pet pit bull was also thrown from the vehicle. \u00a0 Both patients were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Animal control was called to\u00a0care for their dog. \u00a0Further down the freeway there was another wrecked vehicle, but it was unclear as to whether it was related to this incident.\u00a0 There were no other reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
