{"id":1255,"date":"2009-04-17T00:14:20","date_gmt":"2009-04-17T08:14:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=1255"},"modified":"2009-04-22T15:16:21","modified_gmt":"2009-04-22T23:16:21","slug":"second-alarm-fire-on-the-west-side-of-long-beach","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=1255","title":{"rendered":"Second Alarm Fire On The West Side Of Long Beach"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, April 16 2009 at approximately 10:30 PM, Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) Units responded to a report of a structure fire on the cities west side, at 1347 West 14TH Street.<\/p>\n<p>Upon arrival, the first in Engine Company found a large volume of fire coming from a two story commercial building and requested the incident be upgraded to a Second Alarm response.\u00a0 A total of 45 Firefighters on 14 pieces of apparatus responded and worked to confine the fire to the unit of origin.<\/p>\n<p>The area of origin appears to have occurred in a center unit used as a recording studio, a diesel injection business, and another vacant adjoining unit both received minor structural and smoke damage. The total estimated damage caused by the fire is approximately $500,000.<\/p>\n<p>The LBFD Arson bureau is currently investigating the cause of the fire, and the Building Department has &#8220;boarded up&#8221; the structure to ensure security, and to prevent any injuries to the community.<\/p>\n<p>This fire occurred in Council District #1.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Thursday, April 16 2009 at approximately 10:30 PM, Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) Units responded to a report of a structure fire on the cities west side, at 1347 West 14TH Street.
