At 11:48 PM on 5\/20\/09, units\u00a0responded to a reported apartment fire\u00a0on the 1000 block of \u00a0Myrtle Ave. On arrival Engine 10 found smoke and a small amount of fire showing from a side window.\u00a0E10 and E2\u00a0used forcible entry techniques and\u00a0knocked down the\u00a0fire quickly. Truck 1 provided lights and fans for horizontal ventilation.<\/p>\n
Fire damage was confined to the kitchen and living room, there was some smoke damage to the balance of the residence.\u00a0A fourth engine was requested to assist with overhaul due to pack rat conditions. \u00a0LB Gas and Edison confirmed shut off of utilities, Public Service was requested for board up. The residence was left in the possession of the property owners.<\/p>\n
Approx. $50,000 fire and smoke damage to 800 sq. ft. apartment.<\/p>\n
