{"id":1743,"date":"2009-10-11T14:59:10","date_gmt":"2009-10-11T22:59:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=1743"},"modified":"2009-10-12T14:16:40","modified_gmt":"2009-10-12T22:16:40","slug":"horses-escape-from-stable-fire","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=1743","title":{"rendered":"Horses Escape From Stable Fire"},"content":{"rendered":"ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p>The\u00a0call came in to LBFD dispatch for a brush fire near the 6900 block of Atlantic Avenue\u00a0and the Los Angeles river bed at about 7:45pm on 9\/10\/09. a couple of minutes later it was upgraded from a single response to a full structure response. The first arriving LBFD unit was Rescue 12 and the paramedic proceeded to give his size up.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0&#8220;Fire, we have a good going stable fire, be advised we have multiple horses loose and have the first unit pull an extended hotline to the rear for fire attack.&#8221; The reason that the Rescue was the\u00a0first and not an Engine\u00a0was that there was another structure fire just finishing up about 2 mile south of this incident. Units were clearing that call\u00a0and other units had to respond from farther away.<\/p>\n<p>Lite Force 19 (E19 and T19)\u00a0followed closely by Engine 13 were the first units on scene to start fire attack. LF 19&#8217;s Engine had multiple lines pulled for attacking the fire. E7 and T7 also assisted with the fire. Ultimately, 4 or 5 stalls were affected and were a total loss.
