{"id":2358,"date":"2010-08-05T13:42:50","date_gmt":"2010-08-05T21:42:50","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=2358"},"modified":"2010-08-06T13:09:06","modified_gmt":"2010-08-06T21:09:06","slug":"big-rig-overturns-and-traps-driver-on-the-710","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=2358","title":{"rendered":"Big Rig Overturns And Traps Driver On The 710"},"content":{"rendered":"ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p>At 10:30 this morning, units from the Long Beach Fire Department were dispatched to the transition road from the north bound 405 to the south bound 710 freeway to a report of an overturned big rig with a trapped patient.\u00a0 Engine 9 arrived on scene and found a tractor-trailer carrying a load of scrap metal had, in fact, overturned trapping the male driver in the wreckage.\u00a0 The force of the impact also ruptured at least one of the truck\u2019s saddle tanks sending a torrent of diesel fuel across the roadway.\u00a0 It took crewmembers from Truck 7 roughly 10 minutes to cut the driver, who appeared to be in his 30\u2019s, from his vehicle.\u00a0 He was transported by LBFD rescue 13 to a local trauma center in moderate distress.\u00a0 Fortunately, there were no other vehicles involved and no other injuries reported.\u00a0 The transition road remained closed for several hours to facilitate clean up.\u00a0 The cause of this accident is under investigation.
