{"id":2695,"date":"2010-12-29T11:56:45","date_gmt":"2010-12-29T19:56:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=2695"},"modified":"2010-12-29T15:06:32","modified_gmt":"2010-12-29T23:06:32","slug":"bedroom-blaze-on-myrtle-ave","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=2695","title":{"rendered":"Bedroom Blaze on Myrtle Ave."},"content":{"rendered":"ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p>At about 6:15 pm on December the 27<sup>th<\/sup>, units from the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) were called out to an apartment fire at the 1800 block of Myrtle Ave.\u00a0 Upon firefighters arrival they encountered a one story, multi family dwelling with heavy smoke and fire coming from a back unit bedroom.\u00a0 Engine Companies began an aggressive interior fire attack with their hoses while the Truck Company laddered the roof and vertically ventilated the structure with their chainsaws to remove trapped smoke and heat below.\u00a0\u00a0 The fire was quickly knocked down and a primary search revealed no victims inside the heavily charred unit.\u00a0 Luckily the occupants were not home at the time but the unit did sustain heavy smoke and fire damage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A total of 7 people were displaced from two units &#8211; 4 adults and 3 children.
