{"id":2747,"date":"2011-01-12T13:40:58","date_gmt":"2011-01-12T21:40:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=2747"},"modified":"2011-01-12T13:41:24","modified_gmt":"2011-01-12T21:41:24","slug":"fire-sprinkler-saves-a-local-restaurant","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=2747","title":{"rendered":"Fire Sprinkler Saves a Local Restaurant"},"content":{"rendered":"ngg_shortcode_0_placeholder\n<p>On the morning of January 12<sup>th<\/sup>, 2011 around 6:30 AM, a first alarm assignment consisting of three Engines, a Truck, a Paramedic Rescue, and a Battalion Chief were dispatched to the Wingstop Restaurant at 1806 Ximeno Ave. for a reported water flow alarm. Upon arrival, Light Force-17 found one unit of a commercial building charged with smoke and the sprinkler system activated. Using access keys, Firefighters entered the business and found a small smoldering fire that was kept in check by a single sprinkler head.<\/p>\n<p>After extinguishing the fire, Firefighters removed the furniture from the interior and began water removal operations. The damage was limited to a small storage area thanks to the working sprinkler system and the business will remain closed until it is inspected by the Health Department.\u00a0 This is another great example of how working fire sprinklers can save property and lives.\u00a0 Given the time of day and had this building not been sprinklered, this fire could have quickly and easily consumed the unit of origin and destroyed the entire building.<\/p>\n<p>The cause of this fire that occurred in the 4<sup>th<\/sup> Council District is currently under investigation.\u00a0 There were a total of nine Fire Department apparatus and 24 personnel working on scene.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On the morning of January 12th, 2011 around 6:30 AM, a first alarm assignment consisting of three Engines, a Truck, a Paramedic Rescue, and a Battalion Chief were dispatched to the Wingstop Restaurant at 1806 Ximeno Ave. for a reported water flow alarm.
