{"id":4682,"date":"2013-10-08T10:23:14","date_gmt":"2013-10-08T18:23:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=4682"},"modified":"2013-11-18T14:29:36","modified_gmt":"2013-11-18T22:29:36","slug":"lbfd-proclamations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/?p=4682","title":{"rendered":"LBFD Proclamations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/10-1-13-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-4747\" alt=\"LBFD Proclamations\" src=\"http:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/10-1-13-11-300x199.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/10-1-13-11-300x199.jpg 300w, https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/10-1-13-11-190x126.jpg 190w, https:\/\/firechannel.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/11\/10-1-13-11.jpg 676w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>On Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Long Beach City Council Meeting two Long Beach Fire Department Employees recieved Proclamations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2012 Employee of the Year is Jeremy Berryman<\/strong> (center right).\u00a0 Jeremy began his career with the Long Beach Fire Department in November 2001 and has been a dedicated employee for the past 12 years.\u00a0 He has held the positions of Plans Reviewer, Code Enforcement Inspector, and was recently promoted to Fire Plan Checker II.\u00a0 In 2007 Jeremy became the first full time Fire Plan Checker\/Inspector in the Port of Long Beach.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy has proven to be a valuable asset to the foundational growth of the Certified Unified Program Agencies (CUPA) Tanks Section of the Fire Prevention Bureau.\u00a0 He has earned and maintains an International Code Council Certification as an Underground Storage Tank Inspector as well as a Hazwopper certification.\u00a0 He continually offers assistance within the CUPA\/Tanks Section when extra coverage is required.<\/p>\n<p>Jeremy is a team player and is always ready for new challenges.\u00a0 His work ethic and attitude personify what it means to be a part of the Long Beach Fire Department.\u00a0 No matter how full the schedule or workload is, he constantly displays a pleasing demeanor and attitude.\u00a0 This has been evident in the multiple letters of appreciation and commendation he has received over the years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The 2012 Firefighter of the Year is Paul Rodriguez<\/strong> (center left).\u00a0 Paul joined the Long Beach Fire Department in 2001.\u00a0 He is currently a Firefighter Paramedic assigned to Rescue 9.\u00a0 Paul served as a Public Information Officer with the Community Services Division for two years where he played an integral role in the further development and enhancement of our Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program.<\/p>\n<p>Paul volunteered shortly after Hurricane Katrina for deployment as part of the Federal Emergency Management Agency\u2019s (FEMA) outreach efforts to support those devastated by the storm.\u00a0 Paul spent multiple weeks walking through the debris fields comforting those that lost everything and providing assistance as families started the recovery process.<\/p>\n<p>Paul served six years as a Director for the Long Beach Firefighters Association, Local 372 where he provided valuable leadership.\u00a0 He played a pivotal role as one of the primary event facilitators during two of the Fire Department\u2019s Memorial Services.\u00a0 Paul is committed to the motto of the Long Beach Fire Department, which is, \u201cmore than fighting fires.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; On Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Long Beach City Council Meeting two Long Beach Fire Department Employees recieved Proclamations.
