Family Displaced By Mobile Home Fire

On Friday, August 7th at 2:18pm, the Long Beach Fire Department was called out to reports of a structure fire at Villa Park mobile home park. Units arrived within 3 minutes and found the single family home fully engulfed with flames showing and potentially spreading to the adjacent home next door.

Engine 12 along with Rescue 12 were first on scene and reported heavy smoke and fire from the home and began an aggressivefire attack. Engine & Truck 11 were not that far behind and pulled additional lines from both E12 and their own Engine. E19 was also en-routeand helped out with the fire attack, along with checking out the home next door.

E12 reported that the primary search was complete and that no victims were found, even though there were reports of potential occupants inside the time the fire broke out. It took about 15 mins to knockdown the fire and begin the overhaul process. There were also 2 vehicles that were damaged by the fire in the car port.

The unit next door had minor damage from the exposure to the flames,or radiant heat, but no damage to the inside of the home.

1 Firefighter was taken to a local hospital for heat exhaustion as a precaution.

One family, 7 members total, were displaced due to the total loss and damage to the home. The Red Cross was requested to help with shelter for the night.
