By Jackawa Jackson | February 23, 2009
At 2:05 PM, on the afternoon of February 23, Long Beach Fire units were dispatched to a reported fire inside a mobile home park located at 6665 Long Beach Blvd. Upon arrival, the first units in reported heavy black smoke pouring from one of the residences. Once inside, they found a large volume of fire to the rear of the unit. An aggressive interior attack was made on the fire, which limited damage and prevented the fire from spreading to the adjacent mobile homes. Although it was reported that no one was home at the time of the fire, a thorough search for victims was made by the responding units. Sadly, the family dog perished in the fire. There were no other reports of injuries to firefighters or citizens.
