Southern California Offshore Powerboat Elite Donation

Recently the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) received a very generous donation from the members of the Southern California Off-shore Powerboat Elite (SCOPE). This donation of $24,321 will go to the Friends of Long Beach Firefighters non-profit organization 501(c)(3).
“Friends” supports the Department’s Junior Lifeguard program; the Fire Ambassador program; the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT); the LBFD Kids program; the Rescue Youth (mentor) program; and has contributed to worthwhile charity campaigns such as the “smoke detector give away days”. They also support charitable organizations including the Interval House, the Young Horizons, the Long Beach Library Foundation, the American Red Cross and many more throughout the greater Long Beach area.
With the ever-increasing costs and the likelihood of expanding some of these programs needs and services this timely donation will ensure continuous support and demonstrates once again the SCOPE’s commitment to support our community far beyond the “Water Front”.
What is the Southern California Offshore Powerboat organization all about?
Each year S.C.O.P.E. members participate in a number of fun and interesting road trips to such places as Lake Havasu and Lake Mead. They’re always a lot of fun for everyone. A great way to relax and enjoy your boat with others who want to do the same.
S.C.O.P.E. is made up of members from all walks of life – iron workers to corporate officers. There are well known racers and others new to boating. Performance boating has brought us all together in what we feel is the best power boating participants club on the west coast.
Whether on the ocean or during a road trip, S.C.O.P.E. members are a fun loving group who take their boating seriously and responsibly. S.C.O.P.E. is very family friendly, and safety is always important to our members.
