Injury Traffic Accident With 2 Ejected Victims

By Jackawa Jackson | February 22, 2009

On Sunday morning, February 22 at 2:42 AM, Long Beach Fire Department units responded to the southbound 710 freeway, south of the 91, for a report of a vehicle accident with an ejected victim.  Once on scene, they found that a female driver in her 20’s had been involved in a collision and was thrown from her VW bug, while a male passenger remained in the car.  The woman’s pet pit bull was also thrown from the vehicle.   Both patients were transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. Animal control was called to care for their dog.  Further down the freeway there was another wrecked vehicle, but it was unclear as to whether it was related to this incident.  There were no other reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters.
