Structure Fire In The Wrigley Area Of Long Beach Hospitalizes One

Just before 8:00pm this evening, Long Beach Fire Department units responded to 2190 Locust Avenue to a report of an unknown type medical aid. Once on scene Engine 7 crew members found that there was actually a second floor apartment well involved in fire. Additional units were dispatched to the scene as Engine 7 crewmember mounted an aggressive interior attack on the fire. The fire was confined to the room of origin and was brought under control within a matter of minutes. A woman, who appeared to be in her mid 30’s was treated for moderate burns and transported to a local hospital. 3 other persons were evaluated on scene but refused transport. The cause of this fire is currently under investigation. There is no immediate damage estimate at this time. Two people were displaced as a result of this fire and were referred to the American Red Cross. A total of 21 firefighters responded to this incident.
