Notice: Function _load_textdomain_just_in_time was called incorrectly. Translation loading for the wptouch-pro domain was triggered too early. This is usually an indicator for some code in the plugin or theme running too early. Translations should be loaded at the init action or later. Please see Debugging in WordPress for more information. North Town Extrication

By frhayes | March 4, 2009

On Wednesday, March 4, 2009 at 9:31 A.M., Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) units Engine 12, Truck 7, Rescue 11, Battalion Chief 3, Fire Prevention Officer 51 (FP 51) and Basic Life Support (BLS Ambulance 17) responded to a reported injury traffic accident, with a trapped victim On E ARTESIA BLVD, At PARAMOUNT BLVD.

Unit FP 51, the first arriving unit, arrived within three minutes of the initial dispatch. Engine 12, the first arriving apparatus, assessed the situation and determined that extrication would be required by the Truck company using the “Jaws of Life”. Truck 7 used the jaws to remove the driver’s side door, freeing the patient from the vehicle.

The approximately 40 year old, male driver received minor injuries to his left side that were sustained when a pickup truck broadsided his vehicle. The driver of the other vehicle did not receive any injuries requiring treatment. LBFD Paramedics transported the extricated victim to a local hospital in “moderate condition” for further medical interventions. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department.

This incident occurred in council district 9, with a total of 6 apparatus and 11 personnel responding to this call.
