Roof fire @ 5500 block of Oleta
By frhayes | May 27, 2008
This morning at 9:55, LBFD units responded to a roof fire at 5534 Oleta St.. Units arrived on scene within 4 minutes to find a small roof fire on a wood shake roof. The fire was quickly extinguished, with little to no damage to the interior. It is believed this fire was a result from embers from a previous unrelated dumpster fire in the rear alley behind the residence. An engine had responded to the dumpster fire earlier, extinguished it and did not notice any extension. There was a build-up of pine needles on the dry wood shingles that may have contributed to the spread of the fire. No injuries were reported. The occupants were not home at the time of the fire and have been notified.
Units responding to the fire included: E17, E22, E14, T14, R14, BC2, & PIO4
