56th Way Apartment Fire
By Matthew Dobberpuhl | December 11, 2013
Long Beach Fire Department resources responded to reports of a residential structure fire early this morning. Calls were received just after midnight for an apartment fire on the 2600 block of East 56th Way. First arriving Fire Department resources encountered a fire in a second floor unit and initiated an aggressive fire attack. Firefighters were able to confine the fire to the kitchen area but the apartment was determined to be uninhabitable.
A female resident was treated and released at the scene for an asthma attack. The family is being assisted by the Red Cross.
