Apartment Fire In North Long Beach

At 1:29pm on November 13,  flames spread rapidly through a second story unit of a  two story apartment building. The apartment was located at 4467 Atlantic Ave.  Long Beach Fire Department units arrived on scene to find dark smoke billowing from a second story window.  Interior crews made a rapid interior attack while firefighters from the truck company  performed vertical ventilation.  The fire was confined to a back bedroom due to the aggressive attack by on scene units.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.  There were no reported injuries to civilians or to firefighters. The Red Cross was requested to assist with one displaced family.
