By frhayes | November 14, 2008
On November 13, 2008 the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) participated in the “Great Shakeout” earthquake drill. During the drill the Long Beach Fire Department participated with other departments, agencies, and private organizations by conducting evacuations of the Public Safety Building (including prisoners), the Port building, local schools, initiating our communications plan with the Long Beach Airport, setting up field Command Posts, and activating a unified command at the Emergency Communications and Operations Center (ECOC) to cite a few examples of our involvement.
