LBFD Belmont Shore Parade Invitation

On Saturday, December 6, 2008 from 5 P.M. to 9 P.M. the 26th anniversary Belmont Shore Christmas Parade will be held in the city of Long Beach, on Second Street.

The Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) will be participating in this event, by carrying on the tradition of conducting an “Open House Set Up” at Fire Station #8, located at (5365 East Second Street).

LBFD members, their families, and friends are cordially invited to watch the parade from in front of the fire station (space permitted) come early for the best seats (bring your own chairs) the bench in front of the station only holds four. Chili will be prepared and served compliments of Engineer Jeff Lyons and the crew of station 8.

Coffee, hot chocolate, and (Priscilla’s Special Recipe) of hot apple cider will also be served with an assortment of cookies, and candy canes.

First line apparatus with LBFD personnel, and the museum rigs staffed by (retired LBFD members) will provide transportation for City Council Members and past Long Beach Olympians. In addition to this, the fire safety house with the LBFD Fire Ambassadors, and Sparky the firedog will participate in the parade. This event provides a great opportunity for past, and present members to meet and great one another, and spread some “Holiday Cheer”.

Parking and a shuttle service will be provided from fire station #14, located at (5200 Elliot Street) starting at 2:30 P.M. and running until the end of the parade (approximately 9:30 P.M.).
