Snake makes a surprise appearance

By JJohnson | September 29, 2008

On Friday, September 26th at around 1pm in the afternoon a call came in for a snake bite to the hand. Engine and Rescue 10 were dispatched and arrived on scene within minutes and found a male in his mid-30’s with a bite to his hand from a Boa-constrictor that was in a crawl space in the attic of the 2 story apartment building he was working in. Apparently the snakes owner, a tenant of the complex, reported losing the snake sometime last year and gave up on finding him. The electrician was in the attic installing some wiring when he found more than he bargained for, about a 4 foot snake that no one knew was there. His injuries were minor and he did not require transport to the hospital. Animal control was called out and captured the snake.
